# MealPing Terms of Use Effective date: July 16, 2026 Last updated: July 16, 2026 These Terms explain the rules for using MealPing. ## 1. Introduction MealPing (the "App" or "Service") is provided by the app publisher identified on MealPing’s App Store product page ("Developer", "we", "us"). These Terms govern your use of MealPing. ## 2. Acceptance of the Terms By downloading, accessing, or using MealPing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms do not limit mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. ## 3. Eligibility and Minimum Age You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required to consent in your country or region or have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use MealPing. The App is not intended for children under the age where parental consent is required by applicable law. ## 4. Description of MealPing MealPing is a meal planning, recipe, shopping list, pantry, reminder, widget, and subscription-based premium feature app. It lets users create recipes and ingredients, plan meals, generate shopping lists, track pantry items, save store locations, receive local reminders, use widgets and Live Activities, and access premium planning tools. Some AI-related features use Apple Intelligence/Foundation Models on supported devices and supported operating systems. ## 5. Organizational Purpose MealPing is an organizational and planning tool. It is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, food safety, professional cooking, grocery availability, or emergency reminder service. ## 6. License to Use the App Subject to these Terms and Apple’s App Store rules, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MealPing on Apple devices you own or control. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, or modify the App except where applicable law expressly allows it. ## 7. Apple App Store Terms and Apple’s Role MealPing is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple is not responsible for MealPing’s content, data, support, or legal documents except as required by Apple’s own terms. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms to the extent required by Apple’s standard App Store terms. Apple handles App Store billing, subscriptions, introductory offers, refunds, and certain transaction processing. ## 8. User Responsibilities You are responsible for the recipes, meal plans, pantry entries, shopping lists, store locations, preferences, notes, and other content you enter. You must review all outputs before relying on them. You are responsible for complying with laws, checking food labels, managing allergies, and maintaining appropriate backups of important information. ## 9. User-Created Content You retain ownership of recipes, ingredients, store entries, meal plans, shopping lists, pantry items, and other content you create. You grant us and Apple the technical rights necessary to store, process, display, synchronize, and operate your content through the App, local device storage, Apple iCloud/CloudKit where enabled, widgets, and Live Activities. You must only enter content you have the right to use. ## 10. Intellectual Property The App, name, UI, design, software code, graphics, icons, and other materials provided by the Developer are owned by the Developer or licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. User-created recipes and text remain yours, subject to the technical license above. ## 11. Acceptable Use You may use MealPing for personal meal planning, recipe organization, pantry tracking, shopping preparation, and related household use. Commercial resale, automated scraping, attacks, circumvention of premium restrictions, or interference with Apple, the App, or other users is prohibited. ## 12. Prohibited Conduct You must not use MealPing to upload illegal content, infringe intellectual property rights, bypass subscription controls, reverse engineer the App where prohibited, overload services, abuse Apple services, misrepresent food safety or health information, or use the App in a way that may harm others. ## 13. Meal Plans Meal plans are user-managed planning entries. MealPing cannot guarantee that meal plans are complete, nutritionally suitable, safe, synchronized instantly, or free of date/time errors. Review meal plans before shopping, cooking, or serving food. ## 14. Recipes and Ingredients Recipes and ingredients can be user-created or generated with app assistance. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, duplicated, or unsuitable for your needs. Ingredient names, amounts, categories, cooking steps, serving sizes, and preparation times must be checked before use. ## 15. Shopping Lists Shopping lists may be generated from meals, recipes, pantry data, and preferences, or entered manually. Automatically generated lists can miss items, include too many items, use incorrect units, or fail to account for pantry consumption. MealPing does not guarantee that any store has an item in stock. ## 16. Pantry and Inventory Tracking Pantry tracking depends on information you enter and maintain. You are responsible for updating quantities when food is purchased, used, cooked, discarded or moved. Stock status, low-stock thresholds, quantities, units, expiration dates, and availability are aids only. If you forget to update the App after shopping, cooking, discarding, or consuming food, pantry data may be wrong. ## 17. Quantities and Unit Conversions MealPing may display or calculate amounts and unit conversions. These may involve rounding, approximate matching, unsupported units, or user-entered errors. Verify all quantities before cooking, shopping, or serving. ## 18. Expiration Dates and Food Storage Expiration dates and pantry reminders are not guarantees of food safety. “Best before” and “use by” dates are not the same. MealPing cannot assess smell, taste, temperature, storage conditions, broken cold chain, bacterial growth, packaging damage, or actual food quality. ## 19. Allergies, Intolerances, and Dietary Restrictions MealPing does not provide reliable allergen detection. Allergens, traces, cross-contamination, product changes, and preparation risks may be missing. Users must check official packaging and producer information and consider allergies, intolerances, pregnancy, religious restrictions, medical diets, and other dietary needs. ## 20. Food Safety You are responsible for deciding whether food is safe to buy, store, prepare, serve, and eat. MealPing must not be used as the only basis for food safety decisions. ## 21. Nutrition and Health Disclaimer MealPing does not provide medical, dietary, nutritional, or therapeutic advice and does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure disease. Consult qualified professionals for health, allergy, nutrition, pregnancy, child, elderly, or immunocompromised-person concerns. ## 22. Location-Based Reminders Premium store reminders may use saved store locations, geofencing, background location, and local notifications. Location reminders are affected by iOS permissions, system limits, signal, battery, hardware, and Apple services. They can arrive late, early, or not at all. ## 23. Notifications MealPing may request notification permission for pantry expiration reminders, store arrival reminders, and related alerts. Notifications are not guaranteed. Do not rely on MealPing as the only method for time-critical reminders. ## 24. Widgets and Live Activities Widgets and Live Activities may show shopping lists, meals, and suggestions. iOS controls update timing. Widgets may be delayed, stale, incomplete, or unavailable. ## 25. CloudKit/iCloud Storage and Synchronization MealPing stores user content on the device and may synchronize it through the user’s private iCloud account via Apple. Synchronization can be delayed, unavailable, conflict-prone, or affected by iCloud settings. MealPing does not operate a separate server for this app content. ## 26. Data Loss and Backups Data may be lost due to deletion, device failure, iCloud issues, software bugs, account changes, low storage, sync conflicts, or updates. Keep your own copies of important recipes or information if MealPing does not provide export or backup functionality. ## 27. Premium Features Premium features currently include AI planning on supported Apple Intelligence devices, expanded recipes and planning, advanced pantry tools, smarter shopping lists, store reminders, and Live Activity-related shopping tools. Availability can vary by device, operating system, region, Apple account, subscription status, and App Store configuration. ## 28. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions MealPing Premium is offered through auto-renewable monthly and yearly subscriptions configured in App Store Connect. Prices, currencies, periods, taxes, and eligibility are shown by Apple and may vary by country or storefront. ## 29. Trials and Introductory Offers A 7-day free trial may be available for eligible new subscribers if configured and approved in App Store Connect. Eligibility is determined by Apple. If a trial applies, billing begins after the trial unless cancelled in time through Apple. ## 30. Billing Through Apple Payment is charged to your Apple ID by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive limited StoreKit transaction information needed to unlock premium access. ## 31. Cancellation and Management You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings. Subscriptions normally renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to Apple’s rules. ## 32. Restore Purchases MealPing includes Restore Purchases using Apple StoreKit. Restore depends on Apple services, the Apple ID used for purchase, and the availability of valid transaction entitlements. ## 33. Refunds and Consumer Rights Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s rules. We do not guarantee refunds and do not state that refunds are never available. Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights you cannot waive. ## 34. Availability and Changes MealPing may contain errors, be interrupted, change, or be discontinued. Features may be added, changed, restricted, or removed, especially when affected by Apple APIs, iCloud, StoreKit, iOS updates, or legal requirements. ## 35. Updates You may need to install updates to keep using MealPing or certain features. Compatibility may change with future iOS versions. ## 36. Third-Party Services MealPing uses Apple services including App Store/StoreKit, iCloud/CloudKit, MapKit/Apple Maps, notifications, widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Intelligence/Foundation Models where available. MealPing does not collect data for advertising or third-party tracking. ## 37. External Links If the App links to websites such as legal pages, support pages, Apple subscription management, or Apple support, those services are controlled by their respective operators. ## 38. Beta or Device-Limited Features AI and system integrations may depend on newer iOS versions, Apple Intelligence support, device capabilities, language availability, and Apple configuration. Such features may be unavailable even if shown in the App. ## 39. Disclaimer of Warranties To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MealPing is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that content, reminders, sync, AI output, or calculations will be error-free. ## 40. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, food loss, missed reminders, health consequences from reliance on unverified information, or subscription issues controlled by Apple. This does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited. ## 41. Indemnity To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses caused by your unlawful use of MealPing, infringement of third-party rights, or serious misuse of the App. This does not apply where prohibited by consumer law. ## 42. Force Majeure We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including Apple service outages, network failures, regulatory changes, natural events, labor disputes, or security incidents not caused by our failure to use reasonable care. ## 43. Suspension and Termination We may restrict access to the App or premium features if required by law, Apple, payment status, technical necessity, or serious misuse. We will respect mandatory consumer rights and purchased subscription rights administered by Apple. ## 44. Effect of Termination After termination, your license to use the App ends. Local or iCloud data may remain on your device or Apple account unless deleted by you through the App, iOS, or iCloud tools, where available. ## 45. Changes to the Terms We may update these Terms. Severability If any part of these Terms is invalid, the remaining parts remain effective to the extent permitted by law. ## 47. We may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, sale, reorganization, or legal requirement, subject to applicable law. ## 49. Entire Agreement These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any mandatory Apple terms form the agreement for use of MealPing. ## 50. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of the country or region where the app publisher is established, without removing mandatory consumer protections available in your country or region. ## 51. Consumer Disputes If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights to bring claims in your country of residence. EEA users may contact their local consumer authority. ## 52.
